As a performer Gayle Seay has worked on Broadway, National Tours, Regional Theaters, cruise ships and with Symphonies across the country. She has appeared in commercials, films, television and print. In the early 90’s, Gayle went to an audition for A Chorus Line and, apropos to the show, was asked by the Casting Director “ What do you do if you can’t dance anymore?” Gayle’s first thought was, “I want to do what you do.” So began a journey that started under the careful tutelage of Scott Wojcik and Charles Rosen, who hired her as a Casting Assistant when she wasn’t performing. How fitting and exciting to be returning to work alongside Scott Wojcik.
Gayle worked independently for a few years out of C.A. casting for number of prestigious regional theaters including American Musical Theatre of San Jose, The Arvada Center in Denver and Stages St. Louis. She cast the World Premiere of One Way Ticket to Hell at the Marilyn Monroe Theatre in LA and consulted on Revolution Off- Broadway at the Joyce.
For two years prior to that she was half of Margolis – Seay Casting where she cast the Drama Desk Nominated Off -Broadway company of NEWSical with Jamibeth Margolis as well as the Nat’l tour and Denver company. They also cast the inaugural season of The NY Musical Theatre Festival, Jean Ann Ryan Cruise Ships and many plays and musicals both regionally and internationally. In addition to theatre they did independent films and industrials.
